SUMMARY:Dresden
DESCRIPTION:Dresden 2019 Review  \nEuan McCabe gave a truly outstanding performance at the Dresden Youth International Meet recently in Germany.  Diving in the group B platform event\, he topped the podium to win gold. This was the first time Euan had competed for GBR and it could not have been more impressive. \nAlthough Euan finished in 3rd position in the preliminary round\, he was in last position out of 12 going into the final; due to the way in which only the points from the first 4 dives are carried forward.  The 13 year old Plymouth diver was unperturbed and with guidance from his experienced coach Sally Freeman he conquered any nerves to deliver a consistent and remarkable round of dives\, which proved to be unbeatable.  He was the only diver in his group to break the 400 point barrier finishing nearly 16 points ahead of the Russian runner up. \nEuan first competed in 2012 and has been building towards diving for GBR ever since\, after showing early potential.  With the support of his parents (Anna and Darren) he trains in excess of 15 hours a week at the Plymouth Life Centre.
