SUMMARY:8 Nations
DESCRIPTION:Last week a ten strong British diving team competed in the Eight Nations Youth\nDiving Meet in Turin. The two day competition gave the 14-18 year old\nspringboard divers the opportunity to compete against athletes from France\,\nItaly\, Germany\, Norway\, Spain\, Sweden and Switzerland.\nAmelie Underwood from Plymouth Diving\, who is coached by Sally Freeman\nand supported by Pilkington Estates is already an accomplished British diver\nand once again proved her worth as a force to be reckoned with.\nProducing one of her best ever rounds of dives on the 3m board\, Amelie\nfinished in third position to claim the bronze medal. Closely behind her was\nteam mate Libby Duke from Edinburgh Diving Club.\nAmelie joined fellow British diver Caitlyn Coster from Dive London Aquatics\nClub for the 3m synchro event. The fledgling pairing just missed out on a\nmedal to finish in fourth position.\nFollowing on from a great opening day Amelie could not have executed a more\nconsistent round of dives on 1m. Not one to be intimidated by her German\ncounterparts her steady and confident performance paid off. With the second\nand third positions changing hands throughout it came down to the last dive to\ndecide on the podium position. Lying in third position Amelie performed her\nclosing dive\, an inward 1 ½ somersault pike with greater finesse than her\nnearest rival to bump her up to a silver medal with the Germans in first and\nthird.
